This is Joanne (aka mynxi) . . . . .

Thank-you for visiting my site.

I was born in Hong Kong and came over to Canada when I was five years old. I finished my twelve years of grade school, along with completing up to and including grade nine piano for the Royal Conservatory of Music. I graduated at the University of British Columbia for my Bachelors of Applied Science in Materials Engineering in May 2008. I am currently working as a Pavements and Materials Engineer at a local engineering consulting firm.

As I was finishing up high school, I focused on cars and motorcycles. My first car was a 1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS, it was my 'hobby' as there were endless modifications to play with. With so many new after market parts, I decided to try my hand at racing. I attended my first track day at Mission Raceway in 2005, and then started with autocross in the summer of 2006. From there, I joined the UBC Sports Car Club and became the President until my term ended in April 2008. I have participated in two season of UBCSCC's Slush Series, the Sport Car Club of America's 2007 Packwood Washington National Tour, the 2007 Canadian Autoslalom Championship hosted by VCMC, and countless local autoX events.

Through cars and racing came the motorcycle. I bought my first bike, a black 2005 250cc Yamaha Virago, in 2005 to learn on and went to Pacific Riding School for lessons. After getting my full licence, I upgraded to a sport bike, a silver and black 2003 Honda CBR600 F4i, then a 2004 Honda 954RR, and currently a 2005 Yamaha R6. After losing my first car, I bought another stock 2.5RS and built it up. Now the project is complete in gorgeous custom Cashmere Yellow paint plus lots of goodies.

In between school and the cars, I did some modeling on the side. I started with my first runway fashion show in 2002 for a local YWCA charity event. I got addicted modeled for Import Showoff Canada in 2003, Sport Compact Nights Vancouver 2006, the VCMC Kumho Super Challenge 2006, Indie I Do, LoveStruck, Savvy Bridal Show, Project Wedding, the Wedding Lunch and Vancouver Fashion Week. I was signed by the TalentCo modelling agency in 2005 after participating in the FacesWest Model and Talent Search Vancouver. Currently, I do regular photo shoots with local photographers and runway shows

I did this personality test and the definitions are actually quite accurate, it really reflects who I am. Try it yourself ^_^

A VisualDNA about Me
Mood: Easy Rider
You're a bit of a romantic and have a taste for the exotic. You love feeling the sea breeze in your hair, sun on your skin... Slip those shoes off... You like to kick back. When it comes to art, you have a traditional eye. You are passionate about history and skills that have been around for centuries, you believe in truly great art that stands the test of time. As for music, it's the soundtrack to your world. An open road, your favorite tracks - clichés are there to be enjoyed! Your choice of treat shows you crave relaxation. Maybe you live a pampered life - or maybe you're so busy you don't seem to get any time to yourself. When you're tense you need a little help to unwind. Always taking life how it comes, and living in the moment. You don't get fazed by life, you just breeze through it.

Fun: Thriller
Oh - insatiable! Your thirst for affection never drops. You've got a high sex drive and an appetite for love. For kicks nothing beats an adrenalin rush. You like to take risks and push limits, you're confident and brave - life is for the living. When it comes to holidays, you like to explore and immerse yourself in another culture. Always on the go, you take in as much as you can. You find it hard to switch off, as you like to learn all the time. What grosses you out? Nobody is perfect but some bad habits aren't acceptable; you realize that health is wealth. You can make the best of any situation - always a lot of fun to be around. You love to laugh and have a bit of a naughty side.

Habits: High Time Roller
You can never get enough attention or affection. A bit of a one track mind some might say. You like to think you're a devil in the sack, no talk and plenty of action! Clean and pure - your choice of drink shows that on the whole you care about your health and make sure you're putting the right stuff in. As for the home you have very cool and contemporary tastes - a bit of a style monger actually. It's not just about function - your environment has to be as stylish as you are. You are only seen in the best, and the finest, you love top quality, high-end glamour. You're always adding a touch of sophistication to the proceedings.

Love: Love Bug
For you love is about long-term commitment, it means devotion and tenderness. When you think of freedom - you think of being in charge of your direction. The open road and a full tank can take you pretty much anywhere. You are the type to fall in love a thousand times a day. Your feelings snowball quickly, and you are full of passion.
